Locals bring marathon to SLO

A marathon was always on my list of things to do in my lifetime,” says Heather Hellman co-founder with Samantha Pruitt of  “Get Off the Couch Potato”, a sports production company in San Luis Obispo. At 45 she decided the time had come and entered into Team in Training that not only prepares a runner for the race but raises funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Annual Wine and Roses Bike Ride

 
The 11th Annual Templeton Wine & Roses Bike Ride will take place October 6, 2012. Start and finish is at the Templeton Community Park, and riders can choose between a 30-mile, 62-mile (metric century), or 100-mile courses. Proceeds from the ride will benefit these local organizations: the Community Action Partnership Adult Day Center, the North County Humaine Society, and the Templeton Community Library Association.

Local chiropractor competes in 100-mile endurance run

On Saturday, June 8th 2013 at 7:00 a.m. one of the most arduous organized events in the U.S., the San Diego 100 Mile Endurance Run, began in the Laguna Mountains just outside of San Diego, California. The race was along the Pacific Crest, Noble Canyon, and Cuyamaca Trails.

Scott Dubrul, a San Luis Obispo chiropractor, completed the 100-mile course in 26 hours and 55 minutes. He trained for the San Diego Endurance Run for over two years.
