Radiology Associates opened the Central Coast’s first high-field-strength truly open MRI scanner at their Santa Maria office, Digital Medical Imaging, last summer.
The Paso Robles Food Cooperative, founded by Montgomery Norton, seeks to become a hybrid of well-studied models of similar establishments around the country and, after being awarded a Seed Grant from the Food Co-op Initiative, the local co-op is well on its way to becoming a reality.

Inaugural run benefits Operation Surf Central Coast
Do they ever quit? It sometimes seems as though the folks at Amazing Surf Adventures are always on the go, and what they are up to this fall is no exception.
After hosting Operation Surf Central Coast 2013 the week of Oct. 3-9, the Amazing Surf Adventures team has no intention of slowing down as they gear up for their inaugural Operation Run, an 8-mile fun run on Veteran’s Day, Monday, Nov. 11 in support of all military members, past and present.

Since August 2013, a group of more than 30 seniors have met twice a week to lift weights, work on balance, flexibility and just have a good time while getting stronger and fit in the process.
Their ages range from 55 to the spry 90-year-old Bonnie Meyer.

With the start of the school year, shorter daylight hours, and an increase in a variety of obligations looming overhead, “I don’t have time to exercise,” just may be a familiar tune ringing through your mind.
Problem solved – Tabata intervals can be a fast and effective way for the average person to find time in their schedule for exercise.
The natural beauty of the Central Coast often inspires visitors and locals alike to explore their surroundings in many ways. Hiking, cycling, walking and running are all great ways to get out and see what the Central Coast has to offer. Horseback riding is another way to hit the trail and Outback Trail Rides offers rides for anyone interested in seeing the area from the back of a horse.

Like many of you, I feel we live in one of the most beautiful places in the world. It’s relatively easy to enjoy the outdoors and be active year-round on the Central Coast. I have also been lucky enough to work with an active group of people and have many active patients that inspire me to compete and push myself athletically.
