San Luis Obispo Goes Red to Recognize Wear Red Day and Raise Awareness for Heart Disease

The American Heart Association will be joined by over 100 women and men dressed in red for the San Luis Obispo Wear Red Day Luncheon. This half-day event aims to empower attendees with information and tools to fight heart disease, the No. 1 killer of women, and live healthier lives.

The event program will feature the inspiring story of local heart disease survivor, Sharon Young, and keynote address from Dr. Andrea Tackett, MD, FACC, Coastal Cardiology.

You can attend this event from 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM on Friday February 7, 2014 at the San Luis Obispo Country Club located at 255 Country Club Drive, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401.

The goal of the Wear Red Day Luncheon is to raise awareness and funds to fight heart disease in women. Heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases are the leading causes of death in women, claiming the lives of 430,000 women every year. More women die of cardiovascular diseases than the next four causes of death combined, including all forms of cancer.

The San Luis Obispo Wear Red Day Luncheon is sponsored nationally by Macy’s and presented locally by French Hospital Medical Center, a Dignity Health Hospital of the Central Coast.
